You can hop but you can't hide. Yahi Bowmen. Its not how far you can shoot but how close to the game you get when you shoot. Sights we don't need any sights. Why waist time reloading when I can be making arrows.

So if you called in 9 and missed 2, then you must have killed 7. GOOD JOB!

First stand this 7am. forgot the decoy on the way in so a ground squirrel was chossen for the job. hung the squirrel up . thinking the coyote would come down the dirt road smell the squirrel and give me a shot. The road
Posted Image
Did some dog death screams off and on for about ten minutes. Here somthing behind me ,a coyote came up the road the wrong way stops and sniffs the squirrel as the arrow goes into its back about mid way . It jumps and runs about 40 yards and piles up. Look to my left and theres a secound coyote watching the first one take a shot and the arrow just goes over its back about 10 feet. Blew that one . Im stked now two called in mist one and got one .

Forth standin some walnuts calling into some almonds . Was told buy the rancher that there was a pack and they took half his dogs puppies and chewd his other dogs up. Pacl of miniture things. Did some death screams on my javalina call, makes great jackrabbit sounds. About five minutes theres three coming in . Two slow down but the big one keeps coming on in.Gets to 15 yards and slows the arrow inters its neck right above the body strait on. It turns and goes maybe 7 yards. another big male, old one with worn out teeth. Think he was coming in to kill me
Posted Image
Posted Image

Some more stands and nothing. Last place some young almonds on one side and some almonds on the other side a bit older. All small trees so no place to hide. But theres a old fruit crate.
Posted Image

Get up aganst the big box. Start doing a couple chalenge howls . wait a bit then some barks and dog death screams. waited for awile some more death screams. Seen two coming in fast way out there.. When ever they slowed I would do a couple of puppy screams. Onec gets to ten yards and the arrow disapears into its chest. It turns and goes maybe thirty yards . The big one is gone. Then I see it out there at about 150 yards looking my way. Started doing some more dog yips abnd screams. It started to circle me . As it circling me im crawling aroung the fruit crate. As its walking in closer I start using the javalina call to growl at it kinda like the sound a cat make before they fight. Then all at once it comes in. At 15 -20 I relized its all fluffed up tail between its legs and its teeth are showing.I aim for the middle of it . It spins flops and spins and goes to sleep ten feet in front of me.

Third one adult female.

Fourth and the largest. Another big old male.

Im getting to old for this stuff. Naaaaaa. Best day ever. Called that many in and got three in one day but never four. Going to take some doing to top this day. And I almost went deer hunting.. Moon coming up over the orchard at the last place

Thanks for the commints. Was one of the coolest hunts for me ever. I will never forget the looks on the number two and fourth ones they had blood in thier eyes. The fourth one was just plain crazy I could tell he was realy ticked when he was circling me. Was way cool seeing it all fluffed up and showing its teeth.
My bow that I been using lately is not a recurve it a reflex deflex long bow. Kinda like a hybrid between a recurve and a long bow. They shoot real smooth but have the speed of a good recurve. Dang only have for days off this weekend .

OK Thumper you are really making the rifle shooters look bad. I'm with John on this one; next time you can take your arrowes but must leave the bow home. Just stick them with the arrowes.

Those were some healthy dogs, looks like they ate well during the summer. Another month and they will have great pelts for the wall mounts.
Great Job.
