I am looking for a Duck/Geese Hunting Partner in the San Diego Area. I recently moved to the area from Louisiana and am still trying to get into the swing of things here as they relate to Duck/Geese Hunting. If you are willing to take someone under your wing then please let me know. Thanks

Welcome to Cali. It seems that all of the normal folks are leaving this state so it always makes me happy to see a good ol' boy move in. I've never hunted down there but good luck to ya'. You can also try the California forum at duckhuntingchat.com but be warned, it can be a real shark tank over there. Your best bet is to put in for reservations and if you draw, offer to take someone out on your resi. Just make sure to let them know that you don't know the area.
Also, go to the Wingstopper duck call website and look around. Mark did an article for a magazine where he did a really good write up about hunting ducks in So Cal. You may find some usefull info in there. He is a super nice guy so maybe shoot him an e-mail and I'm sure he could point you in the right direction.

Sharps, the rifle that made the west safe for Winchester!
Real tractors have two cylinders and hand clutches.
My rifle is mine, it isn't for sale, and I only give guns to people that I really like.

Wister out in Imperial Valley is okay. Also, some of the "lakes" out here have duck hunting. What part of San Diego? bdoutdoors.com is very useful also. Check it out.

We did good at Wister on Wednesday. 10 ducks for 2 guys, and we missed a bunch of them...a little rusty...You might check out Raahauge. It's a little pricy at $200 for a 2 man blind and decoys. You call the day before to make your res. But, they have some deal where you can show up after 2:30 and it's only like $50. Only a couple hour drive north from San Diego.
