The photo was taken in the Julian area . And no suprise ther were no deer on the memory card . What makes it worse is this cam is about 100 feet from the front door of my cabin .

Already this year when I was going out to Yuma for the Dove opener we had a small lion cross the freeway right in front of us just after the border patrol checkpoint before Imperial .

I always go archery hunting by myself and probably walk by way more lions than I even want to think about !

Curious any San Diego hunters got lion tales ?

The Julian area, and more specifically Lake Cuyamaca (& park) just to the south, had more people attacked &/or killed by mtn lions than anywhere else in the state.

This was not that long ago, just can't recall exactly when, but it may also have been the #1 area of mt lion attacks for 2 or 3 years straight. But not sure on the later??

Anyway, yes, that area has a BIG mtn lion population that's definitely having a (negative) impact on the deer there. Start hunting there with a partner, carry a handgun & shovel... and some predator calls, and have fun :smiley-innocent-halo-yellow:

I over heard a story at the local archery shop in riverside that a turkey hunter was set up on some birds and was attacked. I guess he was sitting with his back to a really large rock and calling to the birds when he started to feel weird. Which caused him to look up just in time to catch a lion jumping off the rock and on to him. He was lucky enough to roll and shoot him with his 12ga in the neck area, shook up he reported the attack and was being prosecuted for killing a protected animal!!! I over heard that from a sherriff that goes to the shop alot.

Yep, I've heard of similar stories. One runs a bigger risk by telling or reporting the truth than just not saying anything. Sad, but that is how pathetic society as a whole has gotten. The liberal lunatics are alive & well & have definitely taken over.
