So last Thursday I was deer hunting on a private ranch it's rolling hills.I had no luck with the deer and it was getting late so I decided to do a stand I had my faulks pc6 cottontail call .I blew that thing on and off for 10 minutes. Then when i walked down to leave i notice a coyote 300 yards up the other hill so i gave another cry on the call and he stepped out behind a tree I rested the 7 mag on a fence post and let it rip.I held on it's back line to I hear a great meat report and get back on the scope and see it rolling down.It was sweet to connect with the 7 mag and those 139 gr gmx copper bullet.I could not go and get the dog the bulls on the that hill are mean they are those mexican cattle.
.
coyote was almost to the crest of the hill.even a blind squirrel gets a nut some times lol

Good job on taking along your call on that hunt. The more options the better. Hope you get your deer a little bit later.

That's a great load, Shoot-it, and was my favorite (139 / 140 @ 3300 fps) when I had that caliber. :good:

Frank the only problem with this Rem bdl is the internal mag follower is a little tricky to line up when you push it back in place and if you don't line up the cases just right it will not grab the next case when you cycle the bolt.Have you ran by this problem before or is that just the way they are ?

Must be the old milk on your fingers. My remington never has that problem. Good shot on the coyote. Junk the ecaller. :D
You can hop but you can't hide. Yahi Bowmen. Its not how far you can shoot but how close to the game you get when you shoot. Sights we don't need any sights. Why waist time reloading when I can be making arrows.

Shoot-it, if memory serves me right, I owned 2 Rem 7mags and 1 Ruger 7mag and I do not ever recall having feeding problems with any of them. Of course that wouldn't mean the problem doesn't exist, just that I never experienced or heard of it.

However, it does exist on my Rem 700, in 223 caliber. A search on Google will also show an ongoing feeding problem with the 700 & 223 cal. I personally believe it is due to that absurd block they have in the magazine that the 22-250 & perhaps other calibers do not have, and why my 250 is so reliable on feeding. The rounds literally SNAP into place unlike my 223.

In other words the 223, Rem 700 is not a "true" short action, like the 250 is, and is the one thing that I do not like about Rem. This failure to feed consistently has cost me & at least one other friend, more than one coyote btw. That friend almost had to be stopped from tossing his rifle, he was that pissed off.

So yes, I really do have to be careful on loading the 223, and it does function most of the time when I am not in a hurry loading it. I will live with the problem, as I do love that rifle and caliber and is scary accurate, WHEN it works. LOL
