I have a friend who reloads all the time and I have seen him use compressed air to blow off his scales many times .

I still like my balance beam scale over my digital electronic one. Perhaps it is just me, as most folks seem to like the electronic ones better... but hey, I'm old (fashion) too! lol

Found with mechanical scales, a scale will build up static charge.
This charge can be released by washing in Dawn, or Joy, or other types of dishwashing liquid.
I use very hot water to avoid and bare metal rusting. The heated up metal parts will dry before they have a chance to rust.
Allow to air dry, do not wipe, or air blow the parts dry, this will only build a static charge back up.
Hope this helps the sticking of the scale.

I use both e- scale and balance beam. i use the balance as a double check every 10 or so loads.
