Some of you guys won't believe this and maybe some one here has seen it. Went hunting yesterday after work with Adrian. Went to make our first stand. Just had put out the caller and and sat down. Adrian says see that pickup over there? Yup. Lets go! Picked up our stuff and walked back to our pickup. Any ways first Stand a bust. Did not hunt it.

Second Stand had one come in behind us and too our right. Adrian spots it leaving at about 300 yards. It wont stop and no shot taken. I am sitting there waiting for that one to take another look at us when I look down and see a Coyote running off with Adrian's decoy in its mouth. It did not just grab it. It had it in its mouth and was leaving with it when I saw it. It was pretty brushy where we were and I could not get a shot sitting down. I stood up as I was telling Adrian, right there, It has your decoy. He says where. I say right F*$&ing there. Boom, Adrian shoots the shotgun! He says, did I hit it? I said, I think so. He said where did it go? I said, I don't know. He takes off running down there while I cover the further open ground with a rifle. We were starting to think it got away. Adrian missed it on the way by, but spots it on his way back to where he shot it. It was stone dead right where he shot at it. The Decoy was right there too. I am asking, Is there any holes in the Decoy?? Nope! Good. Any ways we laughed about it. Congratulated each other and said nobody's going to believe this story. I said I would not believe it if I had not been there. Here is a picture of the Coyote.

It was a real small female. Must have been pretty hungry! She almost made it off with the energizer bunny. We made a third stand and blanked on it.

That is too funny. Glad the decoy survived. Should'a taken a pic of the coyote with the decoy in it's mouth. Wait until Thumper reads this. He is very close to his twin puppy decoys and would have a heart attack. LOL

While I have not personally seen this(as I seldom use decoys even though I own 2 or 3), I have heard of folks stating not only did a coyote take off with their decoy, but the e caller too (not at the same time). One guy had a big hole bit into his e caller. LOL

Anyway, good to see you guys having a great time slaying those coyotes :signgreatreport3kg: :smiley_kewlpics:

I've had two coyotes grab the handle of my Foxpro and pick it up and then drop it. Last year, I had a gray fox grab the thing out of a bush and it tumbled into a ravine 25 feet below. The very first time I used my Mojo critter decoy, a coyote raced in and snatched the fuzzy part and took off with it. I found it the next day about forty yards away. I believe you! Nice hunt!

Thanks for the kind words. We went again to day after work. Made two stands. Came up empty handed on both stands. Can't win them all. Still got to go hunting though. Better than sitting and watching TV. I would love to hunt this country all day. Still learning it and how to hunt the desert. Lots different than hunting where we usually hunt. One thing is for sure, with all the brush here I will not make another stand with out a shotgun. Some of these coyotes are getting pretty close before we ever see them.

Thats too funny. :rofl2: Was it shoot it that had a coon attack his caller last year?. Good shooting . Keep getting them.
You can hop but you can't hide. Yahi Bowmen. Its not how far you can shoot but how close to the game you get when you shoot. Sights we don't need any sights. Why waist time reloading when I can be making arrows.
