I have always been a big fan of whistle calls but I always thought they were all made of plastic. A while back I ran across Wingerts Woodworks and saw that he made a true handmade duck whistle. I got it a couple days ago and have to say that am totally in love with my new whistle. It's A wonderful sounding call and Aaron is a great guy to do business with. He has quite a long waiting list but that is because he makes good stuff. My call is made from stabilized brown mallee burl from Australia. If you want a high end whistle or have a duck hunter in the family and need ideas for a gift I highly recommend this whistle. Will it do anything that the plastic ones won't do?.....No.....But it looks so much nicer while it's doing it. :D

It does teal, pintail, and drake mallard sounds better than any of my other whistles, but the plastic ones seem to do a better widgeon sound. The cheapo duck commander whistle does the best widgeon sound of all my whistles but the teal sound sucks. The old Wingsetter 8 in 1 is still one of the best whistles ever made. It's hard to explain but the sound of this new whistle is very rich sounding. It doesn't have that hard pitchy or hollow sound that you get from plastic (which actually makes a better widgeon sound). The sound has a smoother tone, like a real duck.

Ever used one for coyotes? Cool looking call.
You can hop but you can't hide. Yahi Bowmen. Its not how far you can shoot but how close to the game you get when you shoot. Sights we don't need any sights. Why waist time reloading when I can be making arrows.

Nope. Never really considered trying a whistle for yotes, but a while back I had Braz make me a hen teal call with the metal reed insert out of an old Circe jack rabbit squealer.
