I'd really like to, but I can't get out of doing some chores.

Dave, If you head up to where you hunt quail, I know of a place to check out about 20 miles away. PM me.

So far two years of being skunked. Hopefully this later season I'll break the streak :D.

Didnt end up going out for doves. Slept in and went out saturday night for yotes. Long night, but fun. We had more misses than hits, wind was not cooperating no matter where we went.

She didnt come with me. Thats part of the reason I didnt go dove hunting, She's losing interest in hunting and becoming more of a Girly Girl. She's wearing makeup and worrying about her hair and clothes. Took her "clothes shopping" at Bass Pro and tried to buy her some of that new "SHE safari" hunting clothes that are geared towards chicks and she didnt like that stuff. Pants weren't tight enough, shirts weren't cool enough, hats look too dorky, etc. She's super picky these days and we left BP with just a bag of jerky....
Not going to force her to hunt and have it turn into something she hates. She may come around eventually, we'll see.
At least she still likes offroading

That happens .

All you can do is " show it as an option " , something different .

It took me 2 years before I ever told my GF about hunting . She knew I fished but not hunted . After a few trips & years , she asked " where you going , what you doing " , can I go ? " That was it . She liked watching Rabbits explode & LOVES eating Quail . And she says the " farmed " Quail suck . No flavor .

My brother is in the same boat . He has fished his whole life . She wants nothing to do with it . She's 11 . He asks her if she wants to go when he does & she never does .

My GF can be " girly " too . But she does that when we go hunting & fishing . Just don't post those pics . And I need to say it , " I am SICK of the pink camo ! "

Early season dove close two weeks ago on the 15th of Sept. But late season open again on Nov. 10th and extends to Dec. 24.

Here is the upland game summary with the dates on it. http://www.dfg.ca.go...mary-12-13.html

Steph, that gives you time to work with the new gun and be ready for the late season. Best of luck.
