We went out to a spot ol smokeball and i hit last week and blanked on.
Tried a spot down the road.
We'd been sitting there for about 14 mins when I noticed a coyote way out over 250 yds just dropping off a rise. It stood there for a couple mins and then came a lil closer then stopped again. I waited and waited seemed like forever just to see if it would commit and it didn't so I slowly changed my position to get a clean shot put the hairs on top of its back and sent a 105 amax down range, I heard the smack but didn't see where the coyote went.
Sam and I headed over once I got to the spot.I let Sam go off leash and a couple mins later he was down in a dry wash in a thicket of manzanita barking I get down there and see the coyote standing there with Sam getting after him. Ya I had poor shot placement bullet drifted in the wind or I moved either way he was gut shot . Sam did his job and found him and started barking thats something I didn't teach him but I glad thats what he does when he finds a wounded coyote. As you all know he gets to a dead one and makes sure its dead but its a nice surprise to hear him bark at em alive letting me know where they are at . I called Sam off and finished the coyote off and grabbed some pics and had to head back home to spend the rest of the day with my wife and son.
This is only picture I could get to turn out .
