Ok so i made a deal with my wife that goes like this. Be advised this deal was made early spring.
I asked the wife if i can hunt bear this year, she said hell no. She said i dont have Enough experience under my belt to tackle bear hunting.
Being the manly man i am, i said how about this. If i bag a turkey, pig and a deer before the Bear season opens can i hunt Bear. To which she replies with a smirk, A trifecta.... You think you can pull off a trifecta? To which i replied "HELL YEAH"

Now this is turning out to be really difficult, I hunted spring turkey and found only hens. I have trudged allover the Hills of Cleveland looking for pigs only to find bones, and with Deer season around the corner i am hesitant.

Heres my deal, has anyone hunted Bear before in Santa Barbara area?
I plan on hunting that area, and i need toknow can it be done? Is there ample public land and more importantly is there bear to hunt?

Help me, and advice or pics would do nicely,so i can further argue my point and get a bear tag already.

Here is the Bear harvest figure for 2010 Santa Barbara County. There were only 10 bear taken. Not allot from that area. You may want to look here and find a better place to try.

Just go camp at Little Grass Valley Resvoir in Sierria or Plumas county(not sure which county it is in lol, the line is close) leave food on your table and kill a bear protecting your camp lol. Damn I think that is baiting which is illegal in Calif. Ed
