I headed out for the dove opener with a couple of good friends. This is our fifth year and we were looking forward to starting off the season right. On the opening morning the birds weren't flying much in one of old spots, but we scratched out limits by early afternoon. While exploring for the following morning, we found a great spot that held lots of birds. The next morning we set up early and had limts by 7:00 AM. Another great hunt!

Good luck Bob! We ran into more collared doves this season, and the mourning dove were all on the small size in both spots we hunted. I wonder if one has to do with the other.

Ammo: shot size 7's and 8's, to best honest, any brand on sale.

:good: Way to go.
You can hop but you can't hide. Yahi Bowmen. Its not how far you can shoot but how close to the game you get when you shoot. Sights we don't need any sights. Why waist time reloading when I can be making arrows.

Good to see you guys were having a good shoot.

I had a rough one. Took all day (a morning and and evening hunt) for me to get a limit while they guys on the neighboring property had a shoot 'em up free for all. I'm pretty sure they weren't supposed to be there so I wasn't about to go over there and ask if they'd mind if I posted up next to them. Oh well, it took a while but I shot my daily limit with one box of shells and had a few left over so at least it was a cheap hunt. Lol!

My rifle is mine, it isn't for sale, and I only give guns to people that I really like.
