Are there any cities or in either county that will allow air rifling or using of a crossbow to hunt rabbits? I went to Kern county yesterday to Isabella Lake and was only able to scare one up my whole day there...and that one got away lol, gas will kill me though if I continue to make that type of drive daily so can anyone help a guy out? I don't want specifics if that's frowned upon, just a general direction if you can, thanks and God bless.

Most cities don't allow hunting of any kind. Counties with unincorporated areas are your best bet. Maybe one of the guys from down South can steer you toward one of the county shooting maps.

Unfortunately, it is the high price we (hunters) pay for living in the big city. And yes, it sucks, but is the way it is. I could have said, "it is what it is", but I hate that line. LOL

Good Luck

How does LA county get away with allowing deer hunting then? on the way back from Kern yesterday I saw a map at an Arco showing I think D11 as a deer hunt area and I think that was LA county, would they frown on rabbit hunting but not deer hunting?

Lol, talk about hunting in the city. I live a block away from a police station lately famous for barricading itself. Last tuesday night I left my backdoor open and at 2 am my girlfriend yelled at me about making noise in the kitchen. It wasn't me but a possum I have been trying to get.

Dead behind the couch with my air rifle. Gotta love how you can shoot one in the house and not go to jail.

Personally, I like my possums in my yard, but the dogs go bananas. For the most part, they are gone since I got dogs. A little wildlife in my yard is a pleasure sometimes. Sometimes not so much.
It's not about how many, it's about how.
Life is too short to hunt with an ugly dog or gun

Maintain a balance of nature, use a beautiful gun when shooting a beautiful bird

The fun part of hunting is getting out and as far away from Los Angeles county,  and up to the mountains or deserts and the fresh air. and wildlife. As for rabbits Palm Desert Golf Courses are loaded with them. Next time I check into the Marriott and go golfing I'll slip my  air rifle between my driver and putter lol. there is property where there are no buildings (future sites)flagged . no people is loaded with rabbits 1000 and 1000 @ night time hundreds and hundreds of rabbits everywhere eating grass I wish Marriott would open a hunting section on the property a little hunting and Golf. (Air rifle only) in Palm Springs and Palm Desert. lots of Qual. They would never sign the handy dandy hunting permission slip. Im sure the bunnies cause big money damage to the resorts they eat every thing. I have two as pets for my kids  funny my girls say we don't eat are bunnies cuz there are pets but we eat rabbit that we hunt. are rabbits were out of the cage a week and they eat my whole garden just two of them and all my flowers and strawberry plants like 20 of them. eat eat eat and then we eat them. not my kids pets with a nice glass of something good.
