I am interested in the National forest roads, and how they are laid out,
or what do the numbers mean.
Anyone know?

I try not to patronize REI. I think belonging to the Sierra Club is a prerequisite to employment there. Once, when in there on rare occasion several decades ago, I asked one of their clerks where they kept their 30-06 ammo...just for the reaction. You shoulda seen the horrified look on that young gal's face.

I just got hired at REI in Medord OR, I am not and never will be a member of Serria Club. REI Sells human powered outdoor equipment, camping gear ect, no hunting or fishing gear or anything with a motor. Since they are outdoor enthusiasts I dont think they are supporting closing USFS roads or increasing wilderness areas since it impacts bicycling and family camping. I may be wrong but I will find out and post any info I get. What really suprises me is the # of large corporations that donate to the Sierria club and other clubs of their ilk, like Cat.

Matt,
We all have our personal views. You have a need for an income. Don't let us drive your priorities. Nuff said.

I agree, I have no problem with anyone following their beliefs. My point is that most large corps donate to Sierra club, Humane society ect to keep them off their backs. I know for sure that the managers at the Medford REI store fish and I will find out if any hunt or shoot, I am kind of curious since the Sierra club has become such an extremist organization. I dont take someones likes or dislikes personel and I am not attacking anyone elses beliefs. No offense intended none taken. I will find out what groups REI donates to, for my own curiosity.

Matt do a search " REI and Sierra Club" and you will get a better picture of how in bed REI is with the the Sierra Club. If someone wants to shop at REI it's a free country but not something I can bring myself to do.
