I've been on a quest to find a few good hunting spots. My method has been to use satellite imagery to find some greenery or areas that may contain water. I recently came across a website that I thought was pretty cool and I'd like to share it with you guys.

I start off by selecting Map under Google Layers and then change it back to USGS 7.5' Topos under Topgraphic Maps when I want to investigate an area in more detail.
