[KNOCKED UP]

Tuesday my wife and I are going to Lake Alpine for four days.
The new trailer is checked out, loaded up, and ready.
Alpine is a beautiful lake, with some very good trout fishing.
I also plan to go down the hill a little, and call some coyotes from the
National Forest.
It should be a great get away.

Have fun in my old playground. Back in the late 60's my granparents had a little teardrop trailer and my parents would tow it up to Alpine to the dam road. They would park the trailer about 100 yards off the Hwy, and we would try and come up every weekend. The routine was get burgers and fuel our truck at A&W in Livermore ( gas was next to A&W so mom an I would walk over while dad filled the 2 fuel tanks in the GMC, and we would get to Alpine about dusk, the next morning walk down through where the Cabins were on the lake ( before the new dam was completed) and jump in Grandpa's boat and troll the Dam and south shore below the bluffs left of your picture, I believe.

An uncle had a cabin behind the lodge, and after grandpa passed away and we moved to Lodi to work the vineyard we would hunt the alpine area for deer.


Have fun up there, my trailer is too big for the main lake campground or I would go there more often. Spicers is another close by good lake that we can fit in about a dozen sites...lol

I could have stayed for another stand or two this morning,
I just called, church services don't start until 10:45.
I don't understand, 10:45 should be pm, the day is shot around 11:00 am.

Sheila and I just got back from four days at Lake Alpine.
We had lots of fun and made our trial run with our new (used) trailer.
Everything went well , except when someone left the inverter and the lights on.
The batteries went down to nothing.
We made a few runs down the hill to spicer lake, and saw at least fifty trout swimming around in a large pool.
Guess who didn't have a fishing pole with them.
The next day we went back with a rod, I limited on trout, and all good quality.
The trout at Alpine were very pickey, as were the ones at spicer.
When I figured out what they wanted, I watched them take my green power bait, rolled into a long round shape.

Thanks for the Update.


Spicers is a very good small boat lake, early in the am is good, until the wind picks up in the afternoon. Last summer I dropped the wife and Neice with our trailer there, we ended up dragging the timber stacked up at the launch that nobody seemed to care blocked the other half of the launch ramp.
