How's the coyote population around my neck of the woods? Would I be better off driving further from home? I have yet to see any while driving along 70 though I really didn't expect a neon sign

There are a lot of coyotes in that area, I use to live in Sutter county. Only problem is that it is mostly private ground. The foothills east of Marysville, along the Feather and Yuba Rivers and the Sutter Buttes in Sutter County. Ed

Now I looked up the buttes and it says on the state parks website there is currently no public access after they bought it in 08 does that just mean they don't have a parking area they have established? I can see them from my place and have been thinking about heading out there maybe I'll just give them a ring and see what the deal is

There is no public acess period. Other than the 1300 acres it is all private ground, and hard to get permission to hunt. To many years of others abusing the privilege. the state bought that peice of ground and didn't secure a way into it lol, smart move state . Ed

Was at Feather River for the spring turkey opener, Didn't see any signs of yotes, but it looks like a promising area. Like it has been said already, there is much private land you can't get to and I believe it is a shotgun area only.

Hey Plinker: On my way back from Cedarville I saw one from the freeeway. It was just north of Sacto as 99 hits 05 or whatever. Plenty of traffic and a new subdivision in the distance. Couldn't believe it. It wasn't a dog. Didn't run like one.

We've got coyotes right in Sacramento. Hell, we have cougars too and not the two legged female ones either.
