Well, as usual and like I figured, A zone and D 13 are both still available OTC. So, no worries for me even though I procrastinated again.

If I go out for deer during Archery season, can I cary my sidearm Glock 21 for protection, incase I run into Mt. Lion or Bear? I want to start doing some scouting. Looking into a bow on ebay, to get me started.

Ok. Thanks for the clarification, but you didn't have to use caps and exclamation marks, im not a kid. Just being responsible and using these boards for the information and to get a better understanding of the sport, since I'm still new to this. Either way I wasn't going to go out and just do it.

Getting my A Zone tag, hopefully I'll be able to post a report on my first deer.

Sorry about the strong emphasis but I think it's important enough to be sure that people don't miss it. Especially considering the consequences. I didn't mean it as any reflection on you or your abilities.

Anyway, have fun out there. Bring back and post some pics if you can.

Steph,
Let's clairify this.
Several years back, A zone, the night before archery opened,
My friend (Bad Wayne) and I were in our camp about one in the morning.
Gunfire broke out like in the jungles of Viet Nam.
We took cover, and got away from our camp in the dark. (No protection)
In the morning we found out that several Vietnamese men had taken at least five deer.
We found the hides and heads. and several things that indacated that these men were Vietnamese.
We still believe that if they would have known that we were there, we would have been dead men.
We had no means of protection, except our bows.
I will always take a side arm with me for protection, However the gun stays in camp when I go out to hunt.
It is compleatly legal, and I can sleep without fear of being ambushed.
Tom
