I just looked all through the DFG web-site and I couldn't find it. Where did you find it at?

There aren't any deer in California anymore, the mountain lions ate all of the legal ones.

There are lots of dear in x9b! Atleast there was last year. I went out coyote hunting in that zone the Friday before opener last year. There were stacks of cars in the area and I still saw lots of shooters.

Good luck! LUCKY!

But how many deer did the hunters get compared to the mountain lions that's the real question?

Considering that the average cat takes one a week, which equates to 52 a year, and I KNOW there is more than just one cat in that area  , so I would have to say a LOT more than the hunters :1019:

Wel I didn't get my x3b tag, so I will start planning my pack trip to B zone in the Marble Mountains. My son and grandson drew x3b tags so when I get back from the Marbels I will help them get their bucks. Think it is going to be a fun season. Ed

Even though mountain lions are responsible for many deer kills, I think coyotes pedation of fawns are the biggest problem to the CA deer herds.

I read once that sheep loss to coyotes drop dramaticly during the fawn birthing season.

Wildlife Society Bulletin © 1999 Allen Press

Coyote predation accounted for 79% of early fawn mortality for mule and white tail dear in this study.

Theres no food for the deer any more just little freshly planted fir and pine trees. And they make sure nothing ells grows.
You can hop but you can't hide. Yahi Bowmen. Its not how far you can shoot but how close to the game you get when you shoot. Sights we don't need any sights. Why waist time reloading when I can be making arrows.

Looks like I'm getting ready for my first ever hunting trip; got drawn for D3-5 with my buddy.

Time to do my research, look at maps and so some scouting.

Good hunting, everyone!

Wait a minute! Who lives in BERKLEY AND HUNTS! I think we might have a SPY among us! ;-)

Haha, jus' kidding Mattaphore

My 12 year old son got drawn for an apprentice hunt in Grizzly Flat, J18. This has potential to be really cool because I just got the dies for his rifle (and a chronograph) for Fathers Day, so he is gonna build his own load for his first hunt!

I put in for X7 zones, so I'm sure I'll be hunting in my D5 yard. Oh well, it always pays off.
