minor set back, read book and see what was holding it down and than remove case from die! just remember it was once a pile of parts till some one put it together, you can too!

Ahh the case is not stuck in the die.... i only went about 3/4 of the way down just to check things out.

Have you called the press manufacturer to see what they will do? I've found Hornady to not always be helpful when it comes to their products.

I have a "line" to Hornady. It seems that they had a bad batch of drive hubs and they are sending me out one today. Cool

I'm glad to hear that Hornady is stepping up on this. Maybe things are changing when it comes to their service policies. I hope you get it fixed soon. It's always disappointing when something like this happens.

Well the press is back up and kinda ready to go. My nephew came over last night to help put it back together ....(old eyes and running out of patience). We started to resize and deprime some .308's.... hummm alot of squeeking coming out of the press. i have imperial sizing wax that i am using. i only got about 3/4 of the way down and chickened out (didnt want to get a case stuck) on the up stroke we could see the top of the bench would get tore off if we did this alot (and we plan on it).. so back to the drawing board for the bench.. the .308 case did come out of the die. soooooooooo we changed up to the 9mm and deprimed about 200 of them and sent them through the SS media tumbler and then we called it a night after some success...

Are the dies you are using Hornady? A friend ran into a problem with Hornady dies a few years back that were under sized. Those things were so tight I was shocked how hard you had to work to size brass. Then when we compared the sized brass to what my Redding dies sized to we found the reason they were so hard to cycle.

Yes John they are Hornady dies i have no other dies to check them against ..i reckon i'll see if i can find a new set of dies to buy..

They will replace them for free but it would be nice to check them against another set or size a piece of brass and mic it to see.

No, you need to lube one up good and run it all the way through a cycle to get the size. If the press breaks again tell them you are sending it back with the dies as they appear to be the problem. They didn't even argue with the person I knew that had undersized dies and sent him new replacement ones.

I'm sure using my name will settle it. But seriously I've heard of this happening to others too. You might just want to call them and tell them what's happening and they may just replace the dies. Offer to return the ones you have for their inspection.
