What a nice ending of a great afternoon target shooting.I was driving out and my brother in-law spotted this coyote in a open field leaving the county.I stopped shut off the truck grabbed my coyote slayer and barked at him he finally stopped right before a dirt road and almond orchard.I let on rip and he dropped from my sight .Sometimes that's a good sign When I got up to him I noticed I spined him but it was a hit I finished him off real quick ..I would say it was 150 yard shot.

Hey save some for me. Good shooting. :good:
You can hop but you can't hide. Yahi Bowmen. Its not how far you can shoot but how close to the game you get when you shoot. Sights we don't need any sights. Why waist time reloading when I can be making arrows.

Oh man, Shoot-it... Years ago, I missed a r e a l l y nice, silver & black, thick furred, January, large coyote due to a hard trigger.... also a Remmy (what else? :smiley-innocent-halo-yellow:)... For some unknown reason I had not had that trigger lightened up or replaced yet.

Anyway, I had barked the coyote to a stop at about 125(?) yards, standing there broadside looking towards me & seemed to be in no hurry not knowing what I was. I kept squeezing the trigger with nothing happening & then I must've gotten coyote fever or(?) and jerked the trigger... and missed of course. I still havn't gotten over that (obviously). LOL

Did I happen to say that coyote was a R E A L L Y nice one? :014:

You can have the trigger worked on or you can replace it with a Timney. I've had them worked on and they are fine.

For a hunting rifle I think around 3 pounds is a good choice. That way you don't get accidental firings.

Yeah, I agree with John... especially on the accidental firings.

OMG, I have one friend that is lucky to still be alive (from me wanting to kill him), on his accidental firings... more than once. Especially one Nevada coyote hunt, where he blew an EASY, standing still, CLOSE shot, on the Largest coyote I've ever called in. This dog was ENORMOUS!

Anyway, my "predator" rifles are set around 2 lbs, but admit may be too light for most folks. I do not recall ever messing up a shot with them... YET! However, I never wear gloves, even in freezing temps, just because of that. Some folks always wear gloves, however, I doubt if their triggers are 2 lbs or less & hunt in freezing temps with them. But hey, I was wrong once before. ;)
