Boy its getting hard waiting for rabbit season.
You can hop but you can't hide. Yahi Bowmen. Its not how far you can shoot but how close to the game you get when you shoot. Sights we don't need any sights. Why waist time reloading when I can be making arrows.

Ive got hundreds running around the ranch. I swear if I had a little 3 foot net I could just scoup them up as Im walking to certain areas!! There are about 4 different spots through out the property that hold some big fatties!! I think I'll give them a try this year. Ill have to stand off 2-300 yards just to make it fair :)
I love my wife, for she is what dreams are made of!What Im shooting- Remington 700 VSF .223 with a Vortex Viper 4-12x40 (50 grain V-Max), Winchester 670 .300 Win Mag with a Leupod Vari-X II 3-9x40 (180 grain BST), Remington 770 .243 topped with a Bushnell 3-9x40 (55 grain V-Max), Marlin 917 .17HMR topped with a Tasco Varminter 6-24x42 and a Remington 870 Express 3''.

2-300 yards?!Wow, you must have an awful long net? :signlol2iu: It will be interesting to see how skittish they get after being shot at a few times though Carlos. A great way to practice though with that new rifle, by taking long range head shots on the bunnies :good:

It certainly does look like it will be a great year again this year for the cottontail :yahoo: . Darn Thumper keeps posting these rabbit pics teasing me to death. It's just not fair I tell you! I don't wanna wait 33 more days :504:

Those photos are making me want to get some Cottontails too! I've seen a bunch while hunting for Jack Rabbits so I'm hoping they'll still be around when the season starts on July 1st. :)

Those air guns and arrows sure leave them looking a L O T better than when hit with my .243 :smiley-innocent-halo-yellow:

Yep. Leaves them much easier to clean/prep too. ;) :rofl2:

Especially if you get them with a head shot (my preferred shot) which is much easier with shooting sticks. When I get them with a heart/lung shot (typcially when shooting offhand), it typically leaves a big mess of blood on the interior and can mess up one of the front legs too as the pellet exits out the opposite side of the rabbit. It's just much easier to clean when there isn't a mess of congealed blood to deal with (IMHO) and it doesn't gross with wife out as much too :).

If things go well this season, I'm hoping to start off the season by getting my bag limit of (5) in a day with my .25 Marauder. I may even do some tuning to my .22 Discovery to up the FPS a little and take it out instead (since it is about 3 to 4 pounds lighter, consumes less air (about 20 shots from 2000PSI to 1200PSI) and much easier to carry in the ready position all day. The only draw back with the Disco is that it is a single shot. So in that case I may try and take my Marlin 81-DL-.22 Cal S-L-LR for it's first hunt in about 40 years (it was my Grandfather's) after I sight it in. Ahh, so many options.
