It is a very strong possibiblity that the coyote was rabid, but I have had coyotes come up close to me when I had a dog with me. Usually when they are denning. They have trailed along, but never had one attack me or the dog. I have set my cowdogs on them, lol suckers can run. Often tought useing a dog to attract them might be a way to hunt them. ED
