Went back to the new ranch today and got a double on the third setup using the woodpecker on the FoxPro caller. They came running hard over a rise about 150 yards out and the mangy one angled off to the left. The other gal headed straight in and I barked her to a stop 25 yards before she got to the caller sitting 50 yards out in front of me. The little 25 HP dropped her dead with a shot to the base of the neck. I quickly swung around to the left and the mangy yote saw me and took off broadside......the first bullet caught her in the middle and the second shot was up the arse which dropped her immediately and she died pretty fast. Made a couple more setups with no takers.Posted ImagePosted Image

Mr. Mister - guess I better see if I can find a copy of that magazine and see if the quoted me correctly. Been mis-quoted so many times that I am pretty gun shy of magazines, newspapers, and TV.....seems they never let the truth get in the way of a good story. I hardly consider myself a celebrity but I did make the Jay Leno Show a few years ago when he was reading news clips......unfortunately it again was a mis-quote by the Abilene Reporter News concerning prairie dog shooting and the AP picked it up. When women read my profile on match.com, they send me hate mail...haha!

Great Job Bill I also love my 17 rems. I see no reason for the .204 when I've got 3 - 17 remington's.(Not wanting to start anything) I would like to get a 17 mach IV just for a change I've shot my buddy's and they are really fun.

John - I always feel good about killing a critter eat up with mange......I can think of a million ways better to die than going through months of unbelieveable itching and then dying from exposure. That coyote would probably thank me if it could.

Bill - You are absolutely right, it is at best a lingering death and no animal should suffer through it.

You can hop but you can't hide. Yahi Bowmen. Its not how far you can shoot but how close to the game you get when you shoot. Sights we don't need any sights. Why waist time reloading when I can be making arrows.
