Well the cat wouldn't let me gf and I sleep this morning, and found myself waking up to squirt her with the squirt bottle at 5, and decided to get out and try my luck. Boy were my instincts right on! Got out to my spot around 6, set up a few dekes, and just watched as dozens and dozens of birds were flying all over. Was doing great at first, and noticed quite a few birds were puddling around in the slough a few hundred yards away, so I went into stalking mode. After 15-20 mins of crawling around, I was able to get up close and drop an immature drake spoony and hen bufflehead.. Ended the day with a gorgeous drake bufflehead (I think) and finally got my first limit of the season, as well as my first bufflehead! Those suckers are fast, and I was right on this morning with all my shots. I have plenty of pics, but the laptop isn't working. As soon as it is, pics to follow...If anyone is interested in getting out sometime, pm me... Going by myself gets boring, lol...

You can hop but you can't hide. Yahi Bowmen. Its not how far you can shoot but how close to the game you get when you shoot. Sights we don't need any sights. Why waist time reloading when I can be making arrows.

That's awesome...as I've said, I haven't been duck hunting in quite a while, but am game to go! Trying to determine if I'm going to make it to Quail Point tomorrow...are you still thinking about going?Btw, my girls got me a real nice smoker for xmas! smoked two pheasants yesterday from my hunt last week and they turned out awesome! stuffed with citrus (lemon, oranges) then some onions....the girls won't eat anything I kill, 'cept my youngest daughter (the son I never had :rolleyes:
