Absolutely! A large nut or two and a bolt with a shoulder, or you can use a washer or two. Except for a drill bit, this is all you need. Of course, if you don't have the spare nuts and bolts laying around and have to buy them, you may as well just get the RCBS kit.You can make up the pieces you need to remove a stuck case without buying a stuck case remover.
If you look close, you can see how the nut still makes contact with the bottom of the die, but is also large enough to let the case come through.
And lastly, you can see how the shoulder of this bolt stops it from pulling through, but a washer will also work if the bolt has no shoulder.
Have pulled more than i care to admit like this. You can tap the brass if you want, but brass is soft and you can put a bit just slightly smaller than the threads through it and use the bolt as a tap also almost every time.
