Last weekend I got out to the ranch just after first light. Made a couple of stands before I had to head home for some unexpected things around the house. The first stand was a bust, I sat for 22 mins before calling it quits. As I was heading out to my next stand I came across 2 coyotes on a ridge 500 yards out. I hit the deck and got the caller going. I played lightning jack for 5 and they cruised over the top. I walked another 300 yards to the spot i was going to originally make a stand at. Again called for 22 minutes... nothing. So I pack up and head north. As Im walikng I catch a coyote get up from laying down and stretch about 150 yards away. I got on my butt and lined her up. She layed back down as I drought the scope on her so I held off. I only had a head shot so I waited to see what she was going to do. 2 minutes later she stands up again and sits down facing me. She stood, truned and was watching the cows for a second before I squeezed one off. :g-hog-poppin-up-ani: DRT! She was sleeping 50 yards from that old after birth pile from a couple weeks ago. Soon after my wife called and I had to head home.Carlos

Awesome! I'm jealous. I missed one yesterday and it's haunting me. Dang it for not bringing my shooting sticks. Was a tricky shot, but still...glad you had better fortune!

Yeah, BCF, that sure can be disturbing, sometimes for quite awhile too, as some misses &/or mistakes are worse than others. Or at least it seems like anyhow. I still have one coyote in particular that I missed a semi difficult shot on 6 months ago that still haunts me to this day. It was such a great stand that took me quite awhile to get that (really nice) coyote close enough to me & yet I still blew it, that even killing some coyotes since then never made up for it. :smiley-innocent-halo-yellow: So yep, some misses are definitely worse than others... for me anyhow

Great work! Made 10 or so stands on Friday and nada. It's interesting how on some days you call in something on every stand and on other days you don't see a thing

Good shooting.
You can hop but you can't hide. Yahi Bowmen. Its not how far you can shoot but how close to the game you get when you shoot. Sights we don't need any sights. Why waist time reloading when I can be making arrows.
