Here's the bull I got in Zimbabwe last summer. The quote from Robert Ruark in his book "Horn of the Hunter" comes immediately to my mind. "I don't know what there is about buffalo that frightens me so. Lions and leopards and rhinos excite me but don't frighten me. But that buff is so big and mean and ugly and hard to stop, and vindictive and cruel and surly and ornery. He looks like he hates you personally. He looks like you owe him money. He looks like he is hunting you...He makes me sick in the stomach, and he makes my hands sweat, and he dries out my throat and my lips." I've been dreaming of this mount on my wall since I was about 9 years old, reading every book in the public library on hunting Africa.Posted ImagePosted Image

Great mount. Even better memories, I'll bet.How about one more photo with something like a rifle or a yardstick so we can get an idea of the size of that beast?

Thanks guys, I keep telling Wifezilla how lucky she is to get this to hang in our house. The taxidermy was done by Anthony of Maxwell Wildlife Artistry in Ceres, California. I can't say enough good things about him, he's a great communicator, fairly priced, fast and a real artist. It took less time to mount this than the whitetail that I had done in Texas, the mounts I had done in Namibia and even some antelope horns plaques that I had done here in Bakersfield. It gets delivered Thursday, these photos were from my tavidermist taxidermist. :signs1180lq:

You can hop but you can't hide. Yahi Bowmen. Its not how far you can shoot but how close to the game you get when you shoot. Sights we don't need any sights. Why waist time reloading when I can be making arrows.
