Am I reading this right: DFG Hunting License Fees and Descriptions? Only an additional Upland Game Bird Validation is required to hunt turkey? I thought there was some kind of tag or something?

Yep, all you need is a current state upland game bird stamp affixed to your license and you are good to go.

So, how do they know if you've only taken the permitted bag limit if there's no tag? Not that I plan to take more, of course :smiley-funny-post-sign: - really just curious!

Because good sportsmen don't lie? :smiley-funny-post-sign: I guess the same reason you don't have tags for quail or ducks.

Same as any other bag limit. When you have shot your limit, you are done. Pretty simple concept.Hunters abide by the rules. Poachers do not. It is up to the individual to decide which category they are in.

Yeah, don't bring that stuff up or we'll have to start tagging trout we catch too!
