Went to SD on Sat. with 13 others and shot Sun-Tues. They are shipping back 156 smoked and/or cleaned birds for the group. There were some real greenhorns in the group and I got a #4 C plated in the forehead, Scarey!!! Well after that I took no prisoners, I ended up with shooting 38 and my 91 yr old duck hunting partner with his 28 ga. 870 Rem. took 19 just blocking. He was also top gun as far as percentage shooting with over a 80% kill rate. The owner of the ranch says he's the best blocker he's got. Man to still be able to enjoy a hunt at his age he is just amazing. I want to go with this same group next year cause they can't hit there ass with either hand and after getting shot I didn't feel guilty shooting all those birds for them. dale

Dale,Sounds like you had a good trip. Sorry to hear about the implant. It could have been a lot worse. I hope it doesn't give you any trouble.

I've been pheasant hunting for 43 years and never been hit this hard. This new ammo is 1500 fps and we use copper plated 4's because of the toughnest of the birds back there. Good high quality eye protection should be mandatory while hunting upland game, but we've got enough regs. as it is I guess. Anyway 2" from my eye and I learned along time ago you can't hurt an Irishman hitting them in the head. My Dr. was gone hunting too last week so when he gets back I may have it taken out I'll see what he says. Couldn't believe how many birds this year I may have to go back in Dec. and shoot some in the snow along with some great big honkies. dale

I'm Happy to report that the #4 Copper plated shot popped out last night. It was like popping a boil. The BB looks highly deformed probably due to hitting on a very hard headed Irishman. Well the saga is over after 4 months. Now on to the next adventure.
