At Hunt Clubs you are buying pen-raised birds. Then they plant them out in a field and you go find/shoot them. Lots of fun, but they are not wild birds.

There are two types of Licensed Hunt Clubs. They have different times of when they open and close which are different than the wild bird season. You can look up the regs. on the DF&G website.

I've been to a few of them in the SoCal area. The best I've found was Ace Hi in Central Cal. The birds at Tehachapi and Rahaage's were poor flyers. Keith, at Ace Hi, has the best birds around. According to a handler at Tejon Ranch/High Desert Hunt Club, Keith supplies birds for them as well. It's a 3 1/2 hr drive from where I'm at in Torrance. The upside is that Harris Ranch hotel and restaurant is 20 mins from Ace Hi and is a very nice place to stay.
It's not about how many, it's about how.
Life is too short to hunt with an ugly dog or gun

Maintain a balance of nature, use a beautiful gun when shooting a beautiful bird
