Ive had two in the last couple of days! the last one, I saw him cross the road in front of me about 500yds. Im looking for a place to park the truck and walk back to him but its flat open fields for miles. so I pass him by about 100yds and stop. Hes still there and now looking at me real close, when I step out of the truck He dives into a weed patch thats no more than 3 yds accross and knee deep. I reach into the back seat and pull out a rifle. this is the only time I lost sight of the weed patch. I then close on the weeds watching for any escape route, but when I get there I find no coyote! I stomp every inch of the weed patch looking for him or a hole he could be hiding in. but nothing! this is the second one thats pulled a disapearing act on me recently. How about you guys? DR

Yep! They are sneaking little bastards! I've shot them, watched them roll around and then vanish into thin air!
Now, don't try to get away! I am more muscular, more cunning, faster, and larger than you are, and I am a genius. Why you could hardly pass the entrance examinations to kindergarten.

Shot one, watched it roll around, took my time wAlking uP to him to make sure he was dead. I get to the kill done, look down at the bushes and no sign of it. Blood everywhere but no dog.Literally it pulled a GHOST DOG..

They will disappear after they got shot that's for sure. Think of how many times they just appear out thin air.

They are a master at hiding.I once spotted one hundred of yards away standing in an open plowed field when I got close to the area he disappeared. When I got back to my original spot he is back at the same spot standing up.
