One of the truly more beautiful birds for sure. And three very good pics, nice. Looks like the young one is already looking out into the field planning where he is going to take his birds  . Which club did you guys go to? Looks like nice wide open areas.

Thanks guys and the youngster is just dying to hunt! lol We went to Raahagees in Norco since its right down the street from my house. I was gonna go to four winds but I didnt really like the way they run their hunts. I've never hunted there but I spoke to them on the phone and it wasnt for me and my group. Also Dirty Dave thats the perfect place to train a dog though. They will let you plant your own birds. You should check them out.

Turkeyman, do they allow you and your group to be out there by yourselves (unsupervised)? Also, are there others out there with you and your group, or do you have a plot of land just for yourselves? If you get a parcel to yourself and are pretty much not under constant supervision, I will definitely consider looking into it. It would be kind of fitting to have the young one take a pheasant at the same place he passed his safety course class. Maybe I will give him a hunt for his birthday in March? Thanks.

Congrats. Raahagees in Norco is where my dad took me for my first pheasant hunt back in 1988. Very good times. Your son is gonna love it.

Bisley, you can be all by yourself with your group and no one is around. You can request guides which handle the dogs and only stick around for the first two hours. Now here is the catch...You hunt with no interruptions for the first two hours, after that you can venture into any field under their lease.Which means you can hunt other ppls fields and birds. I've gone twice in the last month and it was fun,no one came into our fields and we got extra birds. the first time we killed 11 pheasant and I got three chukar. Now I didnt want to hunt or "pay" for the chukar since I like to hunt them in the wild, but they came into the field and died lol. But over all I think its the best in my area and I will continue to make trips there. Also their season ends March 15th so if you want to plan a trip get on it before it ends.

Many thanks, that answered a whole lot of questions for me, especially the season. The nephew's birthday is the 28th (March) and I would have put it off had you not mentioned the season. I was just speaking with his parents and mine (his grandparents) last night and we are thinking we might do this for his birthday, especially the more I hear about it. I thank you again, and if we do end up going, I'm sure the kid thanks you too :roflmao3[1]: And speaking of kids, you taking that one back out after his shotgun comes in? I bet he's chomping at the bit by now to go :D
