I'm looking for the Remington Factory "DM" bottom metal for a Short Action Rem 700This is for the "Drop Magazine" 700's not the Hinged floor plate "BDL"If anyone has one or know of someone who has one I would appreciate you letting me know.I know Brownells, Midway, Numrich & a few others carry them but I thought I would give the used markett a shot first. Thanks, Lee

Did you look at Midway? they have a good selection of different bottom metal and mag kits. Go there and look for the PTG trigger guard and bottom metal. lists for 129.99

I'm gonna stick with going for the Factory Rem bottom metal & Mag.1. For the price alone, I can buy the Bottom Metal & Mag for $80-$90 & replacement mags can be had as cheap as $40 Aftermarkett DBM's are really geared towards BR shooters & their price tag reflects that.2. I don't really care for the Mag release on alot of the other aftermarkett DBM kits, this is going on my calling rifle, so I can't have a mag release that hangs below the trigger guard, that I can accidentally hit & lose a $60-$90 aftermarkett Magazine.3. Most experts say it can't be done, so naturally I'm gonna give it a shot & make it work.Lee

Not trying to be Johnny rain cloud but have you ever used a 700 with a detachable mag? All I have ever heard is people complain about how noisy they are the really seem to rattle a lot . Good luck with your search

Nope, never even seen one in person. But its something I've wanted to do for quite some time.If the conversion doesent work, I'll just resell the stock, bottom metal & mag & all that I'm out is some time & effort. As far as them being loud & rattling. Do you mean to say they rattle while locked in the action??Or does the Bottom metal have a lot of slop in it & the Mag rattles while being inserted into the action??Thanks, Lee
