I took Lil'Shooter out today to the annual youth shoot at Quail Point hunting club. The event is all free and she did very well. She hasn't shot with the shotgun before, so I put her on some clays to get the idea. There was a bb gun contest, duck decoy painting, a falconry display, and a guy with the CA shotgunning championship title for this year gave a shooting demonstration. At the end of the day, Genna was able to go on a guided hunt with her own personal guide and dog. Parents weren't allowed, but we could watch from a distance. It was good to see her get a couple of birds. Point Blank got two as well.db

That's awesome! I took my daughter out to walk with me during a Pheasant Hunt in Manteca on Thanksgiving - got 3 birds. Did it so she could get the feeel for what the birds look like and how to get them up, as well as, etiquette around other hunters. She was excited. Next day took her to an almond orchard so she fire off her new .20 gauge + some ground squirrel hunting with a .22. Advice from my inquiry about a GSP provided me info on Quail Point and am now arranging a hunt with me, my older brother and daughter in 2 weeks. Can't wait!

Way to go What a Dad.
You can hop but you can't hide. Yahi Bowmen. Its not how far you can shoot but how close to the game you get when you shoot. Sights we don't need any sights. Why waist time reloading when I can be making arrows.

For the most part, pheasant clubs are a bit out of my price range, but if you can afford it, I really recommend Quail Point. The staff are very friendly. When you pay for your birds in the morning, the hunting begins at 8am. At 10:30 you can go to any area and continue hunting all day if you want. There is no extra charge for additional birds you take. What some people do is hunt their birds and head back to the club house. You can look at the map and see all of the areas people hunted (with the number of birds planted) and the number of birds they got from each spot. Then you can go to the areas where there are some birds that got away.db
