That's some good advise. I hve also bought a few that I knew I really wasn't goin to keep. Then at the right time I would sell it, letting SWMBO aboutthe sale, and that way I could buy another, after ll, I did sell one didn't I?One you like to shoot and feel good with and can hit the target . As for the buying a rifle get so many she don't know if its new or not.
Which rifle should I use?

I think that scout rifle would be great. Years back when I was looking for my first coyote rifle I checked out a savage scout rifle and I really liked the forward mounted scope. I almost bought it but every coyote hunting show at the time featured guys packing around long range, heavy barreled rifles wearing huge scopes, so that's what I got......big mistake. Light and fast makes for a much better calling rifle. The only reservation I have about using a Mosin as a hunting rifle is that the safety requires more than the flick of a finger to disengage it quietly. I'd prefer a traditional small caliber rifle because I like the bullets to stop inside a coyote or shortly after exiting but if you're hunting in country where it is safe for that big slug to travel a ways after blowing through a coyote then go for it.
Sharps, the rifle that made the west safe for Winchester!

My rifle is mine, it isn't for sale, and I only give guns to people that I really like.
