Im new to this site, i joined to learn some new tricks and share some of my own. I would have never considerd spray painting any of my guns before reading some of the posts here. Thanks guys! I take alot of pride in my guns, it sure is a strange feeling shaking a can of paint looking at a perfectly good gun and scope! ;)

You can hop but you can't hide. Yahi Bowmen. Its not how far you can shoot but how close to the game you get when you shoot. Sights we don't need any sights. Why waist time reloading when I can be making arrows.

It is a rem 700 sps in 22-250 with a bushnell 4.5-14x40 elite 3200. I wish i would have put a better scope on it but I was afraid to paint a good one and have it turn out bad.

Nice job! I did my rifle and I have to admit it's a bit to get past the initial spray or two. What paint did you use?

I used Krylon Camouflage paint for the color, then i put 5 coats of Krylon Matte finish clear with uv protection to help it last

I cant take credit for that idea, I think i read about it at varmintal.com. It seems to be working good, that gun rides in the truck almost every day and gets laid on dirt and rocks, scraped by branches with no scratches yet. I definitely recommend the clear.

Wow!! That looks great!! I am new to this site as well, and would love to know how you came up with that. I have a black Rem 700, .22-250 with a bull barrel, and I want to camp it. Please post your procedure. Maybe I can get some help from Varmint Al as well. Again great job!-V

Great job, Yotethumper. That Krylon paint works well indeed. I've done a little of it also, including on one fairly expensive Zeiss scope. I sure squirmed before I did it, but once done, it's done, and they do turn out well. Ca Desert Dog's website also has info on Krylon painting. It's almost to easy, especially if I can do it. lol Oh... and EXCELLENT choice of rifle (brand) & caliber. :smiley-outta-here:

I don't blame you. My hunting partner has the same gun, and as H E A V Y as it it is, I would leave it at camp also :) :smiley-outta-here: , can't help it. It is a great shooting rifle for sure, but very, very heavy. He cheated and bought it already camoed.

Influenced by you guys, I decided to pain my rifle. Studied paint job on Varmint Al's and youtube, pulled the trigger this afternoon, so here it is, not the best camo job but considered it's my first try, I think I did ok.

It was wrapped with camo tape.
