Some of you may remember some of my daughter Alyssa's recent adventures and her ascension into the activity of hunting. She started coming out with me in 2007 at the age of seven. She's been at my side when we took our first predator together. That story and photo made the cover of the State's Hunter Education magazine. She's called in several foxes for me using her special pink hand call given to her by Braz. She has received more forum accolades than I can count. She even won hunter of the year earlier this year over on another forum, a big reason was the efforts of the members here. And after every hunt she would turn to me and ask...when can I hunt?Like the title states, the game as changed. Alyssa passed her hunter's safety course today. Tomorrow we pick up her junior license. I'll be hanging up my rifle for a while...it's Alyssa's turn. And my wife also passed with 100 %. Posted ImageOh yeah, and this is the way she dresses for school...King's camo sweat shirt and her fur bombers hat...that's my girl!

Thanks guys. I really appreciate the comments.I've been amazed how quickly time has flown to get to this point. I know as both my daughters get older, interests may change, but the way I look at it, the more self esteem and self confidence I can pile on them, the better young adults they'll be. And if they continue to hunt with me in the future is entirely up to them. All I know is they want to go now and to me that is all that matters. And now that my wife is getting into it, it's likely that our tradition will be around for years.I can't wait to post up the girls first kills. That will be a day to remember. And to think I stilll remember the day I held Alyssa for the first time. Now I can put a firearm in her hands.

Dont have to wait until he is 12. Kids can get their license at any age. If they are old enough to understand the class and pass the test with 80% the kid is good to go!You have to be 12 to hunt BIG GAME though. My daughter got her license last year when she was 10.
