I was just wondering about preference points? I have 6 points going on 7 on everything but rocky mountain big horn sheep in Nevada. I have succesfully drawn mule deer before but had to return the tag because of a mistake I made with my hunting party. I know I am sitting good for a mule deer and elk hunt soon but antelope, sheep, and goat no idea. Just wanted to know if anyone had some info on what Im in for wait wise? Nevada is a great state alot of hunting opportunity. Anyone else have points over there love to hear let me know.

Whats max points? I thought that Nevada takes the number of points you have in the past squares them and adds one for the current year. What unit did you shoot those bulls in ? Were they any good?

Nevada tags for big game are applied for by zone. You have a higher probability of drawing in a zone that has the most tags available. Drawing deer tags in the north east zones (more remote and more deer) is easier than drawing tags in western zones due to the number of tags available. If you want to hunt deer around Reno or Carson City you will probably amass a lot of preference points before you draw out. Same for elk and antelope, best chance to draw is to apply for tags in the units that have the most tags available. I see antelope right behind my house when coyote hunting but drawing a tag is next to impossible because only 30 are issued each year and everybody wants to hunt in their back yard!
Mountain coyotes have more fur.

max points for sheep is 20 "which i have" they square you're points so i have 400 draw numbers out of the computer they take my lowest of the 400 & that is the number i go into the draw with & i still cant get a tagThe elk i have on the wall is the first one area 211 the seconded one 131 and is just a 5x5, and one cow this year.Hope that answers your questions.Mike.
