So my time in the Army was rather tough on my body. I've gotten surgery on my left knee (June) and my throat (October) this year, and I'm about to find out how bad the surgery is gonna be on my shoulder tomorrow. Had my first shoulder surgery in 08 (torn...erm...completely jacked up rotator cuff) and I was only down for about 4 days before I was back in action. (I'm 25, btw) This one is gonna be a bit more harsh. There's 1/2 inch bone spurs under my acromion and on my clavical they have to shave off, and I find out tomorrow as well if he has to repair my rotator cuff again. He said minimum 2 weeks (no matter how Rambo I think I am) before any shooting, and ~3 months before any shotgun/big rifle. Anyway-- I can't go 3 months without hunting. If anyone wants to go and drag me along I can practice my hand calling and hold a camera! I live up in Valencia and am available pretty often and on short notice (school only on Thursdays). I'm not a Nancy and I went hunting 5 days after my throat surgery so I don't expect I'll be down for too long, and I'll definitely not be a burden. Let me know!!!

If you were in my area you would be more than welcome, unfortunately we're a long distance apart. If you're ever up this way let me know and we'll see what we can do.

Sorry to hear you'll be out of hunting action. Surgeries are tough some times and, as you know by now, you've got to let them heal correctly or they'll just cause you more problems in the future. ;) Concerning not being able to shoot or hunt for 3 months, you could get a PCP air rifle or the Marauder PCP Air Pistol (the pistol is real light). There's no recoil, the pistol is light and you can shoot/hunt small game with it (I know you probably want to Predator hunt, but at least you'd be out hunting :good: ) at least out to 40 or 50 yards. It's just an idea to keep out in action in the outdoors until you are fully healed again. :sport037fn4:

Hey guys thanks for the kind words. I've had quite a few surgeries already and I know my body and how to not hurt myself after the surgeries. I'm looking into getting a not so expensive air rifle. I've tried to find a definitive answer but the answer evades me. Is it true that you have to hunt with a .20 caliber or higher in the People's Republic of Kalifornia?
