Any of those calls have called in coyotes, all it takes is a little time in the field and you will bring them in.

Looks like you have a good group to start with. Try em out and see what happens. Jackrabbit Distress is My standby, But you have a few more on there that folks swear by. Good luck

It doesn't matter what's my favorite, it matters what the coyote likes, only way to find out is to give it try, can't go wrong with rabbit distress.

Hey, never mind what sounds the coyotes like, I play what "I" like. (j.k.)Well, as FoxPro's poll shows, the top 3 are likely the favorite of many, including yours truely... & for good reason. #7 is another excellent sound that we've had good luck with. Now keep in mind that NO sound works 100% of time and why one has to work at it sometimes by mixing up their sounds, including on the same stand. Gotta find what pushes the coyote's button at the moment. Even then, often times that won't work either... and why it's called "hunting"!The only sounds that I do not see on your list (& would want) are 2 or 3 coyote challenge howls. These can sometimes be good when nothing else works. Again, SOMETIMES! lol Another is your #5 coyote locator (&/or greeting or interegation howl as they are called). While I am not sure if I have that exact sound on my e calls, I do have similar greeting howls. Make 1 or 2 of these howls, wait 28.333 seconds & run your #3 or 7 for about 38.5 seconds, or there abouts. (time frames are adjustable)Other times, I will wait approx 5 minutes after 1 or 2 of these greeting howls before following up with either rabbit distress or pup yipes. Allowing enough time for the coyote to show up just from the original greeting howl. Again, just mixing things up a bit.In other words, howling sounds, including their pup distress, can sometimes work when rabbit distress will not, ESPECIALLY on heavily hunted, public land areas. (& why I never leave home without them). Happy Hunting

got one! this was my first yote... thanks for your help, i used your suggestions and i was shocked how fast they came in... called 3 sequences about 2 minutes each with pauses in between, and two came charging in after about 10'

connected using my Tikka T3 Hunter chambered in .223 Remington, Barnes TSX 62 gr (condor zone compliant), taper crimped with the Lee FCD, 0.050 jump, 22.4 gr of RL10X, winchester small rifle primer, Simmons Whitetail Classic 6x20x50mm AO dialed down to 12x.... did i leave anything out? :)i used lightning jack, dsg cottontail distress, dying jack, and when the yotes first left i panicked and used the yote locater... didn't seem to matter, though!i'll never forget the sight of those two yotes charging down the draw, awesome!!!

Lightning Jack has worked the best for me, but they all work, some just better than others. Any of the distressed rabbit calls should work fine.

Coyote pup distress works any time of year, and works well for Foxbang. Overall, I like combinations like Coyote & Fox Fight, mixed in with Grey Fox Distress and Coyote Pup Distress. Deer does have dropped their fawns now, and the Coyote & fawn is working well, especially combined with a fawn decoy and deer scent. Sounds like you have had a good start, so kudos to you. You'll read posts where some good coyote hunters turn their ecaller on, high volume, and leave it on. That's not my way, but I would never say that their way is wrong.

Hey cograts on the coyote. you will never forget the first one. or the second, or the third, or the fourth, and then right about there they all start to get mixed and before you know it you will just remember "the last one i killed" after the shot, get quick at using a pup distress, or a coyote death, i swear i've killed at least twenty percent of my coyotes after i killed one. keep it in mind, and more dogs will be laying at your feet!

This has been very informative to me. I don't have an E caller yet. Have never called a coyote but plan to start soon. I have killed 100's of coyotes, but have never hunted them. Lots of them up here. Ed

anyway, about 2 weeks later after the first one I got another one, pretty much did the same thing, same calls and sequences but this time I was ready... shot about 200 yards across a draw... the dogs came in way off one side of the draw, then stopped right across from me and one sat on top of a large boulder and I got him right between the chest, he rolled off the front of the rock like he was in a diving competition and tumbled down the draw, it was quite a site!!! The other one ran off and I shot at him as he fled away, maybe a 300 yard shot but completely flat out missed...

I went out calling about 3 other times over the next 4 months without anything coming in, but the first two made a great 2011... looking forward to going out again after deer season when the yotes get more desperate to find game when the weather turns cold... thanks again for all the help, couldn't have done it without you guys...

p.s., "lightning jack" was the big winner

I like the gray fox distress ,lighting jack and aggersive jack.Birds I had a few come into lucky bird.
