I am from Michigan and have recently moved to San Diego. I am desperate to find some good dove, pheasant, turkey hunting but have nowhere to start. I went dove hunting about a year ago near Dateland AZ and that was great but its a little far and it was on private land. Anyone have any good tips? I'd also be looking for someone to tag along with. Please help! Thanks,

I'm not sure when the DFG game fields are open but here's a map from the DFG websitehttp://www.dfg.ca.go...ELDS_LETTER.pdf

Thanks a lot. That helps tremendously. I heard somewhere that those fields are pretty busy with other hunters so I will have to check it out. Anyone have any tips on Turkey? I have heard there are some good places near SD.

you heard right, get a map from the forest service and start to look. The national forest name is Cleveland. Good luck out there I've taken some nice birds out of there and will be out there this saturday getting after them. I found some new forest land to hunt. Good luck

the hills where they like to live, elevation anything up to 5000ft to the river bottoms. Look for oak dotted hills and open spaces. Now if you asking for a spot go to forest office and by a map and talk to a ranger or call the dfg.And if you still can get an Idea of where to go....well pm me and you can plead your case and I'll hook you up.
