no luck on the deer, but i did manage to get some tree squirrels for the freezer, three total. the first one was a hog, the other two were decent sized. i forgot how much fun it is to spot and stalk these guys. awesome little property i was on, and as always the norinco 22 came through with flying colors. 2 clean head shots and the other was a decent shot also. i shot them on the piece of property where there were acorn trees, so i pretty much just sat and waited for them and then snuck up on them for a close shot. yes they are, a lot like cottontail rabbit if you've had that. you need to be careful cooking them cause they can be tough. they have very little fat on them, so usually stewing them is a good idea. or you can BBQ them as long as it's low heat and long cook time. the real trick to sit and wait, you'll be able to hear them rustling in the trees. from there you just take your time and sneak up on them. it's great practice for big game hunting as there are usually a lot more opportunities with squirrels than there are with deer, elk, or others of that sort. all the tree squirrels i've shot have usually been only 10 yards away. if you can get that down, then when it's time for your "big" hunt you are way ahead on the stalking portion. oh yeah, they're good to eat! did i mention that already? :smiley-innocent-halo-yellow:

Hey now. I'm bigger than he is and don't think you should go around calling people names based on their weight.......................... :1087:
