and i'm gonna need all the luck i can get, it's been quite some time since i've gone deer hunting. i got the rifle in the case, clothes loaded in my bag. the backpack is packed, food will go in the ice chest when i get home. all i have to do is wait for the buzzer to go off, gas the truck up and split! hope to have some pics of a downed deer. i'm not looking to shoot anything big, just something for the freezer.for those interested i'm using my old trusty weatherby vanguard chambered in .243 win with a baush and lomb 3-9x40 on it. i'm taking the .22 also in case there are some tree squirrels that need eradication.

Get a good one.
You can hop but you can't hide. Yahi Bowmen. Its not how far you can shoot but how close to the game you get when you shoot. Sights we don't need any sights. Why waist time reloading when I can be making arrows.

well, no luck on the deer. all i saw were does and a couple fawns. oh well, it was a nice drive up and a beautiful place i stayed at. i did shoot a couple tree squirrels so at least there's some fresh meat in the freezer. Posted Image

Good job on the back up plan(tree squirrels), better luck on the deer next time.

thanks man. the squirrels were going crazy (getting ready for the winter hiatus) so i figured i'd bust out the .22 and pop a couple. spot and stalked each one which is hard yet very rewarding. there's always next time for the deer, last time i went was 15 years ago. so really, it wasn't make it or break it for me if i got a deer. yeah, it would have been nice, but that's hunting for ya.
