This is my first year hunting bear. I have found many locations around D5 with fresh bear signs and have spent several days trying to call them in with distress calls, but unfortunately had no success. I am thinking about buying hounds but not sure where to start. I have some experience with the fox hounds we used to run back in Wales, UK when i was growing up. I would love the opportunity to follow along with anyone that is running any hounds this season (I have a truck and so can drive behind). send me a PM if anyone has any info, it will be much appreciated. Farther west and more north is a town called Stoneyford. Once you enter the forest you can camp at Letts Lake. If you keep going higher in the forest (just listen to the sound of the dogs howling) you'll find at least a dozen Bear hunters & their dogs in one Hugh campsite. Perhaps you could spend a weekend up there and talk to them. It's the B zone so check when the dates open.
