i shot this duck tonight. I havent ever seen one like it before. Anyone know what it is?gadwall?

i think its a gadwall but the dark bill is throwing me off.

The long neck purple green on the wings and the gray bill with the black tip. Gadwalls have a large white patch on the wing and are built alot like a small mallerd.But thay also have the black pointed rump. the males will have a brown patch on the front of the wing. Nice going

Lucky you didn't shoot the Bull too, that could've been expensive. You might want to get a Duck Identification booklet to keep with you.

I remember in the 70's when it was a 7 Chocolate Head limit, don't think we'll ever see that again.
