What scope would mount on a Savage 22 ???

I like the Mueller APT Tactical Rifle Scope 30mm Tube 4.5-14x 40mm Adjustable Objective Mil-Dot Reticle Matte, it's at Midway for 169.00 right now. Im putting one on my 10/22.

In my personal opinion, a 30MM tube, 4.5-14 is way too much scope for a .22 caliber rifle. Consider your max effective range. Plus, do you really want to be messing around with an AO on a .22? Sorry but it makes no sense to me. You can buy a very nice HK3008 3-9X40 Mil-Dot Hawke Sport HD scope from us that will be a perfect match for your 22. It will save you more than a hundred bucks and give you a very bright, sharp image. It will also be lighter and more in keeping with what your .22 rifle should be wearing.Just my 2-cents because I sell scopes for a living.

I'd get a 22 specific scope with a 1" tube...in a fixed 4x. You can usually buy one for about 50 bucks with rings.

Those look like some nice scopes. what is the difference between the HK3008 & HK3021 ?? Do they come with the rings ??By the way that ghillie is the bomb... Great to hunt in. Only problem I see is picking out all the twigs and such it picks up after hunting.

I can not shoot a 22 with a scope .Drives me nuts Im lots better with iron sights 22s drop too much for me to use a scope . I know Im weird. Your not shooting that far any way. What Shooter said any thing that fit the rings.

The HK3008 is a zoom magnification 3 to 9 power and the HK3021 is a fixed 4 power scope. Both feature Mil-Dot reticles, Hawke's killer warranty and RedHunterLLC's top notch customer service. The rings must be purchased separately but our rings are good quality and reasonably priced. Ask guys on this forum if they are happy with their Hawke scopes and our customer service. We aim to please. I love my ghillie and the twigs make it look that much more authentic.

Thanks for the scope info, True about the ghillie... Truck took a dump again they still don't have it repared correctly, and they are rated as one of the best shops in Hemet. So don't know when I'll be able to purchase a scope.

That is so frustrating. When I had the rebuilt motor installed in my Jeep by a south county shop that was supposed to be the best, it took me three trips back there before they finally got things right. The first replacement motor had a hairline crack in the block. The second motor had some threading in the head stripped. Finally, the third motor was the charm. After getting it home and readjusting the ignition timing myself, it has been running like new. Good luck with your shop. It is really difficult to find a shop with good mechanics that know what they are doing.

Yeah it's a bummer. I have an appointment in Long Beach on the 22nd, to test for a city job. Looks like I won't make it.

I may be wrong but I think it kinda helps to have somebody on the "inside" to nail a city job down. It pays to have connections. Somebody on the inside to lay a little grease on the skids, so to speak.

It also helps to make the appointment. If it were me, I'd find a relative or friend to drive me there, or rent a car. You car in the shop just isn't anything but an excuse. Hitchhike if necessary.

CA DesertDog, I have used this name on other forums since 98. It was my nickname some "friends" gave me because I put some cheap off road tires on a beater 4X truck I had that I used to go out in the desert off roading. The cheap tires were called DesertDogs...lol. Didnt even know you had that name, til after I was on awhile. But we all know you are the "CA" Desert Dog and Im the NV DesertDog, LOL.So now can I get a discount? LMAO!

I've shot squirrels at up to 165 yards with my 22 LR Marlin Model 60. Just using a 3-9 x 40 walmart scope. Once you know how your gun works and how the weather and ammo works in your particular rifle, then anything is possible.
