I'm gone for a few days. :signlol2iu: Best of luck to all the other bird hunting nuts out there. Be safe, have fun, AND DON'T FORGET THE PICTURES, please. Remember too, if questionable, no bird is worth injuring anyone. GOOD LUCK!!!!

Casey's a good looking dog. Sure looks happy there. You must be one proud pappa. We got back WAY late tonight. Had a great time. My poor buddy's kid got skunked first trip out (an hour and a half worth) but not for lack of trying. :roflmao3[1]: LOTS of people (our usual group) were allowed to hunt today. But only for the day. My buddy and I however were one of darn few allowed the pleasure of a September 1st to August 31st pass. :roflmao3[1]: Now we will have next to no pressure or people there for the rest of the season. This means we can now take many of those marginal shots he and I pass on with so many people around. Sure we pass on a lot of shots that would have technically been "accepted" and taken more birds today. But all I can say is, there's a reason we get granted access unlike almost all of the several dozens of others. And now we will have a great open field for the young ones and dog to work in. Takes a HUGE load off our minds. So good to know that acting mature and decent still gets rewarded some times. I will have to post some pics in a few days when I get the chance. Until then, best of luck again to all. And remember, it's a two week season, not just an opening day or opening weekend thing. Get out there and get em! Good luck. Must sleep now.......zzz

Chuck, that is why it's called "hunting", right? Always great to be out though. Casey is indeed a good looking dog. Best of luck to you next time. Hey Bisley, glad you made it back in one piece and had a good time. Sounds like your best days are ahead of you. Yep, lots of folks have never learned how to behave, no matter their age, which never helps our sport either. So glad to hear you being rewarded with some upcoming & great hunting opportunities. Good for you!Look forward to the pics....Frank

good for you bisley! i have an open invitation to shoot on the ranch i do, for whatever is in season. thanks for the nice words on casey, she's been a great dog for me, i've owned her since she was born. i helped give birth to her, and owned and hunted her mother before her. she's a super sweet dog and a great hunter.today my dad and i went out and i shot 6 and dad got 2. we probably could have shot a couple more but missed some easy ones and missed seeing some others. oh well, that's why it's called hunting and not killing.
