Is there a capacity regulation for deer hunting? I read all over the regulations and could only find it for shotguns but I'm interested in rifles. Seems that I read somewhere that you are only allowed a 5 round magazine. (mag capacity can not exceed 5 rounds) but can't remember where. Wanted to use my 30 Cal Carbine for the brush but the Mag holds 10.

Why in the world would you want to use anything that holds 10 rounds for deer hunting? If you don't get it in the first shot or two, do you want to just start throwing lead down range? A bolt action that holds three or four rounds total is more than enough if you do your part.

There is no capacity limit for rifles when deer hunting on regular public or private lands. There may be specific local rules for military bases or special hunts within city limts so check the regulations for the spefific hunt that you are going to do.

Thanks for the answer Fjod I usually use a 270. I was asking because I was given the 30 carbine that I used as a youth to hunt deer with. I didn't say anything about wanting to use a full 10 round mag, just didn't want to get in trouble for over capacity, having to find a mag that only holds 5 rounds.

Dang, you're on a roll Lynn. :rofl2: He just wanted to know if his gun was legal to hunt with, with the magazine he already has for it. That's all. :rofl2:
Sharps, the rifle that made the west safe for Winchester!

Real tractors have two cylinders and hand clutches.

My rifle is mine, it isn't for sale, and I only give guns to people that I really like.

My mistake. I though he was going to take it out and blast away with 10 rounds at a deer like so many of these new hunters today do. It just doesn't make any sense to me. Sorry if I misunderstood.
