I have been trying to decide what to do with my sporterized 303 Enfield No4 Mk1 rifle. Since they removed the rear sight by milling it off I cannot do a traditional scope mount. Finally decided to do a scout scope build instead. Plus I will still be able to use stripper clips with the rifle and that should work great as a truck gun. Going with something like a 2-7x32 scope on it. Have any of you others done any sort of things like this? Curious your results afterwards. 90% of the shooting will be at the low power, but with a 303 cartridge I want to be able to reach out and touch someone with it should the need arise. Any gotchas to be aware of? Since the rifle was already "Bubba'd" I don't feel bad changing it up.Darren

You should find a curio and relic rifle forum they would have more people to help you with this.

Check out the Scout Rifle Community forum. There are a lot of guys there who trick out Enfields. I started a scout rifle project based on an 03-A3 but it got set aside and I never finished it. :smiley-innocent-halo-yellow:

Great project! I'm curious how you secured your scope mount base to the barrel?

Yeah, that's the back of my vest. I've had it about four years. Just thought it was time for a new avatar.

I can't because the idiot who had the rifle before me bubba'd the rifle and milled the rear sight mount completely off. That is why I had to do a scout scope mount instead of a traditional mount. Plus I can still use the stripper clips with this rifle.Darren
