When you shoot a rabbit, do you field dress it on the spot or within a few hours aswell as skin it, or do you hang it for a while. How long do you wait before you can eat the meat. This question could apply to other game such as deer and birds. Whats the average timeline?

Ideally it should be done right away, especir in hot weather, if for some reason you can't field dress on the spot, try to cool it down as much/soon as you can. Rabbit field dress is not that difficult, only takes few minutes.
